Hello, my name is Andrew, and I am the owner of Aeromachinas LLC. We are a small business that specializes in making unique challenge coins using the skin of real aircraft parts. I am an aviation enthusiast who loves all sorts of flying machines. Like many aviation enthusiasts, I collect models, T-shirts, photos, airshow memories, the list goes on and on. One day I thought it would be neat to collect parts from real airplanes. It started with the landing gear door of a Phantom II and a wing access panel of a F-86D (these would later be used to make coin batches B001 & B002). I placed the parts near some challenge coins, and the idea clicked. Challenge coins have been a part of aerospace tradition for many years. I figured, "Wouldn't it be neat to collect challenge coins made from real aircraft parts?". That is how Aeromachinas was born. Each coin is stamped out and laser etched, then encapsulated in a plastic casing. The etched picture shows you where your coin would be located based on the aircraft part it was made from. We do our best to preserve the condition of each aircraft part, so things like scratches and stains are to be expected. It adds to the authenticity of each coin, portraying a story of what life the aircraft part lived.
